A gorgeous new velvet collection from The House of Hackney and William Morris collaboration

Substantial curved back sprung chair totally reupholstered

There were 13 springs in the back rest and 12 in the seat! I used rubberised hair for this chair.

The chaise long now recovered...

Another project on the go...

A gorgeous chaise longue. It had just been recovered but in a terrible way so the owner asked me to do the job again. Quite a challenge when the chaise really needs a full reupholstery. The fabric chosen is a Kirkby Design Smooth velvet in Teal.

A 1970s German armchair

I am now working on a 70s German armchair. Fell in love with the shape and the fabric quite worn out but a really nice shimmer to it. Luckily I managed to find exactly the same velvet. It is proving more difficult than I thought to reupholster it, the fabric was often stretched and moulded to the frame back in the days. Consequently, taking the pattern of all the pieces and reassemble them to fit the chair didn't quite work! I am having to tailor a little bit!

A Bute Melrose in Moss...for the fabric

Here is the chair now finished, its curved back and spring unit make it really comfortable.

Current project...

Mid century chair bought in a fair, really confortable curved back and spring unit. Got to
say, cat is not responsible for the state of the old fabric, he's innocent, look at him! I'm
nearly finished with it. Fabric is from Bute, quite easy to work with but frays a lot.
