Interior styling

People tend to come to me by word of mouth knowing that I will find just the fabric they want or come up with the exact one they didn't know they'd love when they had no idea what to go for. When I advice on fabric, I take into account where the piece is going and how it is used, looking at the decoration of the room, the colours, textures, prints...
So quite often when I am taking on a piece to upholster, I tend to advice the client on the room decoration where the chair/ sofa is going, wether a change of soft furnishing, a wall paint colour or lighting, as I just enjoy doing it. 
Although it is a pleasure to advice on styling, it does take a lot of time researching so I am now offering my services in interior styling! Very exciting new path, here are some examples of my first projects...

Custom made ottoman

Staple&Tack is now making ottomans, whatever size, legs and fabric you desire. This large square ottoman, 95cmX95cm, was upholstered with a very fine epinglé loop velvet    

    woven in cotton, quite striking. Please enquire for any commissions.

What a change of fabric can do...

These two dining chairs came in new but upholstered in grey linen and the client wanted to lift them up with a soft teal velvet and gorgeous floral print. It just looks amazing and they found home in their stylish kitchen.

Lifted with arty fabric...

How about that for a change? New linen cotton blend fabric in painterly styles and new back cushion. The client has chosen to replace the original wooden feet with clear balls which I will show soon when the chair is back home.

Very large armchair in for a recover and new cushions fillings, the new fabric I found for the client is really going to transform it...great linen print!

A pair of Guy Rogers 'Frisco Bay' lounge tub chairs, one low back, hers, and the other one high back, his. When they came out in the mid 1960s, they would have been yours for £40 and £43 respectively. Not anymore!!

Just a change of colour...

This cute little dressing chair was in brand new condition but just not the right colour for the room, so I removed the current fabric and replaced with blue denim cotton.

Ready for summer...

New cushion covers for this outdoor sofa with a great leafy exotic fabric featuring toucans, parrots and butterflies!

This just looks like a painting! Beautiful cats posing...'They live in hope' said the client who is an artist.

Napoleon III armchair in for a full reupholstery. I love when you discover an original label from the maker, here Monsieur Chatret. Although it mentions Chateauroux, the label has an address in Le Marais, Paris, so Mr Chatret might be the client. At this address, 35 rue des Francs Bourgeois, is the Hotel de Coulanges built in 1607. The fabric chosen for this chair is just stunning, an amazing print on velvet by Osborne&Little...
